Laura Lee focuses her practice on insurance coverage matters involving construction defect litigation. She performs analysis of complex insurance coverage issues and provides coverage opinions for clients across the nation. The in-depth understanding of litigation and insurance coverage that Laura Lee possesses stems from her twenty-eight years of experience, first as a trial lawyer and then as a manager of nationwide litigation for a Fortune 500 company.

Following Laura Lee’s second year of law school at Quinnipiac University School of Law, she was hired by a highly regarded, mid-size law firm in New Haven, CT. Over the next seven years, she went on to prevail in over a dozen state and federal jury trials as first-chair trial attorney. She briefed and successfully argued appeals, including before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York. Her cases included high-profile matters, one of which landed her on the cover of the Connecticut Law Tribune by the age of 30. Thereafter, she moved in-house to a leading property and casualty insurance company, The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (“The Hartford”), where she spent decades analyzing coverage and managing the defense of complex litigation throughout the country. Initially, Laura Lee provided coverage analysis and managed the defense of toxic tort cases and environmental matters at The Hartford. She also led a team that managed the defense of asbestos bodily injury class action lawsuits. Subsequently, Laura Lee spent over a decade managing the defense of construction defect litigation involving seven and eight figure exposures and serving as a subject matter expert for the analysis of general, professional and pollution liability insurance coverage. In that regard, she received recognition for years of consistent achievement of exceptional results. In that role, Laura Lee also provided departmental training on the execution of risk transfer and the application of anti-indemnity statutes, indemnification and insurance provisions within construction contracts. She further enjoyed speaking on topics such as consent judgments and authoring legal articles that were released both internally and externally.

A native of Connecticut, Laura Lee enjoys vacationing and spending time with her husband and two children. She volunteers for and contributes to animal rescue organizations. Her interests include music and the history of the formation of the United States of America.
