Mara is a Partner in the firm’s Insurance Solutions and General Litigation practice groups.  Her practice focuses on insurance coverage under primary and excess commercial casualty, auto, and first and third-party property policies, but she also offers coverage opinions and risk management/risk transfer analyses on insurance claims and policies spanning multiple lines of business, including, but not limited to, Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Workers’ Compensation, Employers’ Liability, and Employment Practice Liability policies.  She has over fifteen years of litigation experience in New York state and federal courts and has represented insurers of all sizes in all phases of declaratory judgment actions.

Mara is a graduate of Columbia University and of Brooklyn Law School and has worked as in-house staff coverage counsel at a major insurance company, at several different law firms specializing in insurance coverage, and as an assistant district attorney for the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.

When not working, Mara is an aerialist who trains and performs in NYC.  Mara also enjoys playing pool, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family.
